Did this for the first time on 4th of July picnic. It was yummy, we ate it with just about anything it tasted good with. My secret is that i add a few tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt or sour cream to make it more creamy and decrease the amount of water I put it. I love just to put in on romaine lettuce and eat it just like that. yum! and very healthy.
INGREDIENTS
| INSTRUCTIONS Place beans, garlic, half of the lemon juice, tahini, water, olive oil, and a big pinch of salt in a food processor fitted with a blade attachment and process until smooth. If the hummus is too thick, pulse in more water, a tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached. Taste, adding more salt and lemon juice as needed. To serve, place in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Serve to raw vegetables, romaine lettuce, or home made tortillas chips. Enjoy! |
Hints:
Tahini is simply roasted white sesame seeds that are processed into paste with olive oil.
